The 19th Annual Levi Watkins Jr., MD, Lecture will be held at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 6, via virtual format.
The keynote speaker will be Selwyn Vickers, MD, Senior Vice President for Medicine and Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Vickers will speak on “Heroes of the Past: Lives of Sacrifice Committed to Fighting Racial Injustice. A Message For Us Today.”
This lecture will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the graduation of Levi Watkins Jr., MD, from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Watkins was the first African American student to graduate from VUSM.
