Dewey receives gender equity honor from American College of Physicians

Vanderbilt’s Charlene Dewey, MD, MEd, was recently honored by the American College of Physicians as part of that organization’s observance of September as Women in Medicine Month.

Charlene Dewey, MD, MEd, professor of Medical Education and Administration and director of the Center for Professional Health, was honored by the American College of Physicians (ACP) as part of that organization’s observance of September as Women in Medicine Month.

“Promoting gender equity and eliminating the inequities in compensation and career advancement that physicians can face is a long-standing goal of the ACP,” said Darilyn Moyer, MD, chief executive officer and executive vice president of the ACP, adding that the college was committed to “addressing the unique challenges women physicians confront over the course of their careers in order to foster an inclusive environment that promotes growth and development of women physicians.”
