Vanderbilt Health Hendersonville clinic celebrates one-year anniversaryJun. 27, 2022, 9:32 AM
Leadership from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and local officials came together on June 24 to cut a ribbon in a delayed celebration of the opening of the Vanderbilt Health Hendersonville Clinic.
“We of course wanted to celebrate this resource’s addition to the community much sooner, but COVID-19 made it impossible until now,” said Paul Sternberg Jr., MD, Chief Medical Officer at VUMC.
The clinic, located at 128 North Anderson Lane in Hendersonville, opened in the spring of 2021. It is a multi-specialty facility that offers adult outpatient specialty care, pediatric specialty care, imaging services and more all under one roof.
“We are appreciative that we get to serve this amazing community and are proud to bring to life this concept of putting many complimentary specialties in one, easy-to-access location,” Sternberg said. “Over the past year, the demand for this facility has become apparent as we’re seeing volumes well above what we anticipated.”
Specialties onsite at the single-story, 31,000-square-foot facility include women’s health, pediatrics, adult primary care, orthopaedics for both adults and children, imaging, rheumatology and walk-in care. The facility also has three chairs dedicated to non-chemotherapy medical infusions.
“Due to the fluctuating COVID-19 pandemic and the horrific 2021 tornado that devastated parts of the area, the clinic never had a proper opening,” said Adam Huggins, MD, MMHC, associate chief medical officer of Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. “A year-plus later, we finally found the time to appreciate this amazing facility and the tremendous impact it is already having on the people of this community.”
The ribbon-cutting was held by the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce and attended by community leaders. Remarks were made by physicians, VUMC leadership and members of the chamber.
“We are grateful to have this level of quality, convenient care this close to home,” said Kathleen Hawkins, CEO of the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce. “Vanderbilt Health’s dedication to serving all of Middle Tennessee doesn’t go unnoticed.”
