eStar updates and changes: Easier access to prescription drug monitoring programs

Beginning Aug.10, a new link to Alabama or Kentucky prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMP) will display for departments physically located in those states. This will allow for easier access to Alabama and Kentucky.

If a patient is from Kentucky, then a link to the Tennessee CSMD web portal will show in addition to integrated version. However, Kentucky data is not included in the CSMD integration. If the patient department is in Tennessee, then users will continue to see integrated CSMD link. If the patient department is physically in Kentucky, then you will see a link to the KASPER website. (Or Alabama PDMP if in Alabama). If a patient is from Kentucky, but the appointment is in Tennessee, you will see the integrated CSMD and a link to the web portal. This is helpful since Kentucky data is currently not included in the CSMD integration into Epic. (Alabama data is available in the CSMD integration).
