This annual award was established to recognize a faculty member(s) who have made special contributions to the educational programs of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) through the development and/or implementation of an effective educational innovation. The Geoffrey David Chazen Student Award is selected through a separate process.
Submission Requirements:
The Geoffrey David Chazen Faculty Award is open to all members of the VUSM/VUMC faculty. Candidates should be nominated by their faculty colleagues and will be chosen by the Awards Committee of the Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE). The recipient(s) will receive the Award at the Academy’s Annual Recognition Ceremony scheduled for April 24, 2023. The recipient will also be announced at the Class Day Ceremony that will take place on May 11, 2023, the day prior to graduation.
Submission documents should be assembled as a single pdf file and submitted electronically to the AEE via Cynthia Sims (cynthia.y.sims@vumc.org) by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 3.
Each submission must include the following:
- A nominating letter
- Two additional letters of support
- A current CV
