VA Police to activate VA parking garage gate arms, enforce staff parking privileges

Beginning June 5, Nashville VA Police will reactivate the VA’s parking garage gate arms and enforce staff parking privileges. This means only VA staff with a valid parking decal may use the garage. Additionally, staff will need to use their VA badge to gain entry since the gates will be activated.

VUMC faculty who are also Nashville VA employees may park in the VA garage as long as they complete the VA’s vehicle registration papers, which can be requested at TVAAdminNAS@med.va.gov. VA Police will distribute a valid VA parking decal once submitted and approved.

Any cars parked in the Nashville VA garage will be ticketed and/or towed if they do not have an official VA parking decal and are parked in a designated employee level. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the general public had access to the Nashville VA garage due the gate arms being open.

As a reminder, VUMC requires all vehicles parking on the VUMC and One Hundred Oaks campuses by faculty, staff or students be registered with the Department of Parking and Transportation Services.
