Releasing the features: Workday 2023 R2 coming Sept. 9

Workday arrived in April to VUMC, and it is already time for the first bi-annual release of upgrades designed to increase functionality and enhance the user experience.  Workday’s fall release, known as 2023 R2 will come out on the weekend of September 9-10. Learn about what changes you can expect when the release of the features arrives.

What to expect:

Twice a year, in March and September, Workday provides an upgrade to the latest available feature releases.  The next release, on Sept. 9, has hundreds of feature enhancements designed to improve the way you work through your day.

Expect Improvements and Enhancements*

Here are two examples of improvements we expect that you’ll find with Workday after the release of the features.

  1. Enhanced View of the Team Org Chart

When reviewing Org Charts in Workday (found after selecting the Team icon from a Worker Profile page), you’ll notice larger Employee/Position cards and enhanced color contrast for easier reading and navigation.

  1. Real-Time Error Messages

If you accidentally enter incorrect information in a required field, an error message will now appear immediately when incorrect information is entered, alerting you of the issue to fix.  Currently, an error message does not appear until after you try to submit a form in Workday.
