Vanderbilt University Medical Center presents the fifth town hall in the On the Horizon series, “Augmented Reality at Vanderbilt: Discovery and Innovation” hosted by Michael Topf, MD, MSCI, assistant professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery along with Jie Ying Wu, PhD and Michael Miga, PhD.
Attendees will learn more about augmented reality and 3-D surgical innovations being developed and implemented at Vanderbilt. Presenters will be discussing how augmented reality can improve 3-D visualization of specimens, provide real-time guidance for tumor resection, improve surgical training, and more.
The discussion from some of Vanderbilt’s leaders at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative surgical techniques using augmented reality will be followed by a live Q&A session with experts from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt University, and Meharry Medical College including Kamran Idrees, Nicholas Kavoussi, Zaid Khoury, and Ingrid Meszoely.
