The death of Dr. Mildred Stahlman at the age of 101 garnered obituaries about her remarkable life at both local and national news outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Becker’s Hospital Review, The Tennessean and WTVF News Channel 5. WTVF did a second story, a feature on VUMC neonatal nurse Martha Lott, RN, who was saved as a baby by Dr. Stahlman’s innovative treatment. Finally, Vanderbilt graduate Willie Geist narrated a tribute to Dr. Stahlman that aired Sunday, July 7, on NBC News’ “Today” show.
