Scott Peterson has been appointed President of Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital. In his position as President, Peterson oversees the day-to-day operations of the 80-bed hospital, including the provision of high-quality patient care. He assumed the position in June.
Prior to his current role as President of Vanderbilt Stallworth Hospital, Peterson served as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin. Throughout his tenure, the hospital was consistently a top performer in patient outcomes, patient experience and overall operation. Peterson also previously worked at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital from 2013 to 2015, where he served as an associate administrator and interim CEO.
“Scott is well known to us, and we are delighted to have him in this challenging position given the high complexity of patients in the facility,” said C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, deputy CEO and chief health system officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
“Scott brings nearly two decades of experience with Encompass Health to his new position at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital. His wealth of leadership experience makes him a great fit.”
Peterson earned his bachelor’s degree in history and his master’s degree in public administration from Cornell University. He also obtained a graduate certificate in health policy and management from the University of Southern Maine.
