New high sensitivity cardiac troponin T assay coming to VUH and Monroe Carell, Oct. 2

A new high-sensitivity troponin assay is more sensitive and precise, which allows for earlier detection and treatment of patients having myocardial infarction, and will be available at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt Oct. 2.

The new hs-cTnT assay will replace the current contemporary troponin I (cTnI) assay at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The old cTnI assay will not be available after this time. This change will not affect Vanderbilt Regional Hospitals.
