Today’s Cat of the Day is Lexi, submitted by Kathy Rivers of Marketing and Engagement. “Lexi is 17 years old. She loves to snuggle, talk ‘meow,’ and binge-watch Netflix. She has been a constant in my family – first selected from a rescue at a local pet store when my daughter ages were in a single digits and now as a wonderful companion with me, the matriarch, as an empty nester. She truly is living her best life as a senior cat.”
Today’s Dog of the Day is Harley, submitted by Tymbra Pearce of Anesthesia. “Harley (aka Bubba dog) is an 18 year old shitzu. He absolutely loves food and is tolerating his new baby sister. He may be 18 but he’s a puppy at heart.”
Pets of the Day — what you need to know
The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pets of the Day are included in regular editions of the MyVUMC News newsletter, which is posted twice a week by VUMC News and Communications.
The pets are selected from the hundreds of entries sent to the VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest.
For those who submitted a photo to that contest, watch MyVUMC News for Pets of the Day, and in addition, regular collections of pet photos are posted to the VUMC Voice site. You can see them all here: https://news.vumc.org/section/voice/pets-vumc/.
If you have a pet you would like to nominate for Pet of the Day, the next Pet Photo Contest submission period is coming up later this year, and will be announced in MyVUMC News.
Lexi and Harley were featured in the Dec. 26, 2024, edition of MyVUMC News.
