VUMC Pets of the Day: Nino and Bogen and Hugo and Molly Lou

Today’s first Dogs of the Day are Nino and Bogen, submitted by George and Angie Hunter of, respectively, Psychiatry and Pediatrics. “When we got Nino, he was three years old and sank like a rock! His sister Bogen helped him learn to swim and, while he won’t jump off the boat like she will, he is a rock star swimmer like his sister.”

Today’s second Dogs of the Day are Hugo(pottamus) and Molly Lou Honeydew, submitted by Heather Davidson of the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy. “Hugo(pottamus) is a joyful 215-lb. English mastiff who is bossed around by Molly Lou Honeydew, his best friend, a 25-lb. French bulldog. They are a well known pair in the neighborhood.”

Pets of the Day — what you need to know

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pets of the Day are included in regular editions of the MyVUMC News newsletter, which is posted twice a week by VUMC News and Communications.

The pets are selected from the hundreds of entries sent to the VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest.

For those who submitted a photo to that contest, watch MyVUMC News for Pets of the Day, and in addition, regular collections of pet photos are posted to the VUMC Voice site. You can see them all here: https://news.vumc.org/section/voice/pets-vumc/.

If you have a pet you would like to nominate for Pet of the Day, the next Pet Photo Contest submission period is coming up later this year, and will be announced in MyVUMC News.

Nino, Bogen, Hugo and Molly Lou were featured in the Dec. 16, 2025, edition of MyVUMC News.
