The office of Quality, Safety and Risk Prevention is observing National Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 8-14, with a series of events designed to spread awareness for patient safety throughout the Medical Center campus and its regional hospitals.

Activities Include:

  • National Patient Safety Awareness Week Booth
    • On main campus, we will be asking trivia questions and handing out swag items Tuesday, March 10, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in front of Light Hall.
  • Roving carts
    • Leadership rounding in various inpatient/outpatient areas with Quality Partners.
    • Swag includes lanyards, badge reels, and pens.
  • Making Safety Personal Word Search Puzzle
    • Enter the puzzle here for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card.
  • Team Up for Patient Safety Flyer Competition
    • Teams or Individuals are invited to create a patient safety themed flyer that focuses on any type of safety prevention. For example, fall prevention, pressure injury prevention, medication safety, etc.  The winner will receive a Patient Safety Champion of the Year certificate, and the flyer will be disseminated across all of Vanderbilt Health.
