Cancer Center extDD093The Vanderbilt Center for Quantitative Sciences within the School of Medicine hosts its 4th annual Summer Institute Aug. 7–18, 2017, and requests feedback regarding this year’s course offerings.

The CQS Summer Institute provides graduate students, research fellows, faculty members and investigators an opportunity to gain fundamental skills to apply the theory and methods behind the design and conduct of clinical research studies, covering core knowledge in biostatistics and bioinformatics, as well as more specialized studies of data visualization, modeling, statistical software and analysis, high-dimensional experiments, next-generation sequencing, and genome-wide association studies.

In the past the Summer Institute has offered four weeklong courses providing a hands-on learning experience in biostatistics and bioinformatics. While CQS plans to continue with these courses, the center is considering enhancing and/or expanding the program with additional topics of interest. They would like to hear from past, present and potential students to get an idea of which topics would be most beneficial to cover.

Please take a moment to complete this brief survey to help CQS prepare for its 2017 Summer Institute and better meet the needs of its students.

Be sure to check back soon for course and registration information for the 2017 CQS Summer Institute! Check the CQS website for updates on the Summer Institute’s course and registration information as it is announced.
