Event set to celebrate children

On Sunday, Oct. 21, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt will hold the third annual We Care for Kids Day at the corner of Blakemore Avenue and Natchez Trace on the Vanderbilt campus.

The free, family fun day will celebrate Middle Tennessee children and the entire community.

The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. and will include dozens of interactive and educational booths that will provide messages about nutrition, music, physical activity, literacy, safety and health.

Reunions for former patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) and the Vanderbilt Childhood Cancer Program will also take place during the event.

We Care for Kids Day is sponsored in part by News 2-WKRN, The City Paper, La Ley Radio, Telefutura/Solo Nashville, WSM 95.5 The Wolf Radio and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. For more information visit www.VanderbiltChildrens.com.
