Ruvkun, professor of Genetics at Harvard University, and Winkler, chief of the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity at the National Cancer Institute, were the keynote speakers at the daylong symposium, which focused on the effects of environment on genes and phenotype expression. Canter, assistant professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt, was one of the event organizers.
