LaKedra Pam, MD’10, will be appearing on the game show “Master Minds” as a trivia expert whom contestants will compete against. She is an assistant professor of OB/GYN for LSU Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Brittany Gatta, MD’16, finished her fellowship in hospice & palliative medicine at Duke and started a full-time palliative care position at the Durham VAMC this summer. Gatta and her husband, Luke, are the parents of a 16-month-old daughter, Teresa, and welcomed her little brother in August. Maria Sturchler, MD’17, EdD, is continuing her training at UCSD/Scripps Health in a hospice & palliative care fellowship this coming academic year. Sturchler and her husband, Emmanuel, welcomed a baby girl, Joséphine Louise, on May 17. Dustin Hipp, MD’13, MBA’13, finished his clinical instructor year in the Cardiac ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital and accepted a position at Monroe Carell Jr., Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt as an assistant professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Hipp’s wife, Dana Warren Hipp, BS’06, MD’13, passed her adolescent & child psychiatry boards in Fall 2019. They have three daughters, Grace, 7, Cecilia, 5, and Lucy Irene, born Dec. 18, 2019. Jessica Sparks Lilley, MD’07, HS’13, and Smith Lilley, M.Div’13, welcomed their youngest daughter, Miriam “Alexis” Lilley, on Jan. 6 after almost two years in foster care. She is welcomed by her 7-year-old sister, Emelyn, and her 5-year-old sister, Abigail. Marta Perez, MD’14, and Michael Chomat, HS’17, were married May 9 in an intimate ceremony with immediate family only. Perez completed her OB/GYN residency at Washington University in St. Louis in 2018, where she is an assistant professor of OB/GYN. Chomat is a third-year pediatric cardiology fellow at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. At completion of his cardiology fellowship, he will begin a pediatric critical care fellowship also at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Allie Martin, MD’13, finished her training in general surgery at the University of Virginia in June and started a two-year fellowship in surgical oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in August. Sarah Fitzlaff, MD’20, and her husband welcomed a son, Maverick Alan Fitzlaff, on April 27. Angela Shields, MD’07, PhD’09, HS’11, Kimberly Ma Vanderhoeven, MD’07, Renee Serra, MD ‘07, Ashley Karpinos, MD’07, HS ‘11, MPH ‘13, FE ‘14, Donna Hepper, MD’07, Lynn Holliday, BS ‘03, MD’07, and Dorsey Thorley, MD ‘07, HS’11, reunited in Nashville in January.
