Johns Hopkins University has named the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center in Baltimore for the late Levi Watkins Jr., MD, Vanderbilt University’s first Black medical school graduate in 1970 best known for his pioneering heart surgery and civil rights activism.
Annie Marie Garraway, Ph.D., has created the Levi Watkins Jr., M.D. Scholarship in honor of her late brother, Levi Watkins Jr., M.D.
