Fundraiser for head and neck cancer patients slated for Oct. 16

The second annual Courage Unmasked event to raise awareness about head and neck cancer will be held Friday, Oct. 16, 6 – 9 p.m., at the Sarratt Gallery at Vanderbilt.

Radiation masks donated by head and neck cancer patients and decorated by Nashville-area artists were displayed during the recent Courage Unmasked event at Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Gallery.

Charlie Haller had never smoked or used chewing tobacco and wasn’t a heavy drinker, so the 41-year-old Lyles, Tennessee, man wasn’t thinking about cancer when a mass developed on the side of his neck.
