New Vanderbilt University Hospital Labor and Delivery entrance helps patients bypass Emergency Department

Pregnant patients who are more than 20 weeks along with a pregnancy-related health issue have a dedicated drop-off location. The VUH Labor and Delivery Entrance, located off 21st Avenue at the new Vivian Thomas Way stoplight, offers quick access to OB triage at Medical Center East’s second-floor entrance in the north tower.

VUMC adult hospital prepared for surge of COVID-19 admissions

As of April 9, Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital (VUAH) had admitted 79 patients with COVID-19, 55 of those admitted had subsequently been discharged, and three patient had died. Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital had admitted 10 patients with COVID-19, none had died, and one of those admitted had subsequently been discharged.

New inpatient unit at Medical Center East debuts June 19

The conversion of the eighth floor of Medical Center East (MCE)-North Tower on the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus from outpatient space to inpatient beds is now complete and the new unit is scheduled to open on Tuesday, June 19.

New pedestrian bridge next step in MCE makeover

Later this fall, a new three-floor pedestrian bridge will be installed connecting the North Tower of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital (VUAH) to Medical Center East (MCE)-North Tower. The new bridge will connect the two buildings on the sixth, seventh and eighth floors.

One lane of Medical Center Drive closed Aug. 12

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, Medical Center Drive will be reduced to one southbound lane of traffic. The lane reduction will extend from the intersection of Medical Center Drive and 21st Avenue South to the crosswalk at the west exit of East Garage.

VUMC outpatient pharmacy hours expand beginning Oct. 5

Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, the Medical Center East and Vanderbilt Clinic pharmacies will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
