VUMC is regional center of care for treating rare brachial plexus injuries

Delvonte Mayberry was riding his motorcycle in his hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee, when a motorist pulled in front of him, sending him flipping over the vehicle. Mayberry was airlifted in critical condition to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via LifeFlight.

Last weekend, people who are uninsured received free treatments for outpatient upper extremity conditions at Vanderbilt Bone & Joint in Franklin.

Hand surgeons and other Vanderbilt Health staff offered surgeries to people who are uninsured and need surgical treatment for outpatient upper extremity conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and ganglion cysts.
