Patient ratings of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) health care providers are now live and viewable by the public on the Medical Center website.

Tarpley may be retiring, but he isn’t slowing down

On June 30, John Tarpley, M.D., retired after 23 years of service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and the Nashville VA Medical Center. The next day, he packed a suitcase, and on July 2 he boarded a Kenya-bound plane, a move that was absolutely no surprise to all who know him.

Colon cancer awareness event set for Aug. 5

For some people cancer, especially colon cancer, is a persistent and potentially deadly visitor affecting family members from one generation to the next. Individuals who have a parent, sibling or child diagnosed with colon cancer have double the risk of developing the disease.
