VUSN lands grant to increase number of nursing faculty

Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has received a $1.28 million grant to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty in U.S. colleges and universities.

Nursing, Law students help seniors with advance care plans

Older adults who need advance care plans and health care/financial power of attorney documents can get them easily and free of charge thanks to a new interprofessional pilot project involving Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Vanderbilt Law School and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

School of Nursing buildings to close temporarily starting June 27

The School of Nursing buildings at 461 21st Ave. S. will be closed 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, through 6 a.m. Thursday, July 5, due to a planned power outage for major electrical work. The school will remain open with faculty and staff working from off-campus locations.

School of Nursing recognizes faculty, staff, colleagues and honorary nurses

 Two longtime friends of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing were named honorary VUSN nurses, a leading researcher was recognized for service to faculty and students, and outstanding faculty and staff received school awards during the School of Nursing’s spring Faculty/Staff Assembly May 17.

New co-directors of Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning named

Shannon Cole, DNP, instructor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN), and Melissa Hilmes, MD, assistant professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM), have been named co-directors of the Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning (VPIL) effective June 1.

Seven interdisciplinary programs land TIPs awards for 2018

Vanderbilt University’s transformational Trans-Institutional Programs initiative heads into a fourth year with grants awarded to seven interdisciplinary projects that involve more than 60 faculty members.
