Vanderbilt’s Project SEARCH for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities recently marked a milestone when it hired its 100th employee.

As part of International Housekeepers & Environmental Services Week, VUMC honored workers like Lakeshia Fletcher, shown here wiping down tables in the Café at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, who have been on the front lines during the pandemic to keep facilities clean and safe.

At Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks, among the 40 full-time Aramark Corp. employees who work under contract to provide environmental services — EVS, an industry term for health care cleaning services — there has not been an injury requiring medical attention in more than 500 days.
