Barrow named University litigator
Clisby Hall Barrow, J.D., has joined the Office of General Counsel in the newly created position of University litigation counsel.
Barrow brings to Vanderbilt more than 16 years of experience in litigation with a broad background of experience in the health care arena.
Barrow, a 1991 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Law, spent the past 13 years as an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims and then as a partner with Nashville law firm Walker, Tipps & Malone, where she focused on litigation, with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense, general commercial litigation and class action defense. In addition to her work in the courtroom, Barrow also represented defendants in numerous mediations.
“We are very pleased to have been able to recruit an attorney with Clisby's experience who also has represented Vanderbilt and its faculty and staff for many years,” said John McCauley, assistant vice chancellor of Risk and Insurance.
