Big names Max it out for research
The fourth annual Max It Out will be held at the Wildhorse Saloon May 3.
The event benefits pediatric diseases research at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Fourteen musical guests will take the stage, and will be introduced by 10 national celebrities including Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine resident Travis Stork, M.D., from “The Bachelor.” Amy Grant and Vince Gill will kick off the show, but the other performers will be a surprise.
In past years, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and many others have performed at the event.
It was founded four years ago by the parents of Max Royka, now 5, who as a baby contracted bacterial meningitis. His parents wanted to raise money for research for the disorder.
Last year, Max It Out raised $270,000, and has since expanded to help fund many pediatric research endeavors.
Tickets for the concert and live auction, which lasts from 7 to 11 p.m., can be purchased for $75 from www.maxitout.org.
