Bowtie Award honors work environment
The Arts and Business Council of Nashville presented Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Office of Cultural Enrichment with the 2011 Bowtie Award for Work Environment at its recent awards luncheon at the Wildhorse Saloon.
The Bowtie Award for Work Environment pays tribute to a business with an exceptional work environment which creates a workspace that fosters employee creativity, innovation and morale.
The environment should portray corporate mission, identity and style to the community through the elements of architecture, interior design, space and planning, art display and/or individual efforts.
“We are honored to receive the Bowtie Award and greatly appreciate local recognition,” said Donna Glassford, executive director of Cultural Enrichment for VUMC. “Cultural Enrichment's healing arts programs enhance the day-to-day lives of our patients and staff and create an environment that is comforting and welcoming.”
Nominees were solicited for the Bowtie Awards last fall in four award categories: Arts Education, Arts Impact, Work Environment and Entrepreneur. Finalists were then selected by community leaders.
The winner in each category received $1,000 to designate to the arts organization of its choice. In addition, each winner took home original awards designed by Nashville artist Herb Williams.
