Buschmann named director of Program Development for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital
Heidi S. Buschmann, formerly the director of program development for the department of Pediatrics and clinical administrator for Cardiology and Neonatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has expanded her role to take on program development for Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Phyllis Ekdall, chief operating officer for VMG Children’s Services, and Jim Shmerling, CEO for Vanderbilt Children’s, recently named Buschmann to the position.
“Formally making this change recognizes that program development must be a collaborative and coordinated process between the physicians and the hospital,” Ekdall said. “In addition to serving the program needs of VCH and the Department of Pediatrics, Heidi will handle program development activities for the pediatric surgical subspecialties as well.”
Buschmann received her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt in 1991, and a master’s degree in Health Administration at Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. She completed a fellowship in health administration at St. Luke Episcopal Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
