Business publication honors Chambless, Comperry
Two Vanderbilt University employees have been named among Nashville Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, which each year honors professionals under age 40 for excellence in business and contributions to their Middle Tennessee communities.

Lola Chambless, M.D., a chief resident in the Department of Neurological Surgery, and Cindy Comperry, director of Friends of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, will be featured in a special edition of the Nashville Business Journal on March 10.
Chambless will join the Neurological Surgery faculty in May, becoming the first female in the department.
She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and was a Canby Robinson Scholar.
Her practice focuses on neurosurgical oncology in the Vanderbilt Brain Tumor Center, and her research interests include nerve sheath tumors, atypical meningioma and the impact of diabetes and obesity on cancer outcomes.
She is consulting neurosurgeon for the United States Polo Association and United States Equestrian Association.
As Friends director, Comperry works closely with community volunteers to coordinate fundraising and volunteer support for Children’s Hospital. She dedicates much of her personal time to various community organizations, including Habitat Young Professional, Ellie’s Run for Africa, the American Heart Association and Hands On Nashville, among others.
She became a published author in 2006 with an entry in “Devotional Ventures,” a book of encouragement for business professionals written by business professionals.
She is a graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications, Journalism.
