Children’s Hospital names Carter Development chief
Terry Carter has been named senior director of Development for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Carter most recently was vice president of Development for the Clarian Health/Indiana
University/Riley Hospital/Academic Medical Center in Indianapolis.
“We're thrilled Terry will be leading development efforts for Children's Hospital,” said Jim Shmerling, executive director and chief executive officer for Children's Hospital.
“He has a long record of success in development programs in academic health care settings including children's hospitals.”
At Vanderbilt, Carter will manage a portfolio of high level donors and focus on new donor cultivation. He will also bolster relationships with Children's Hospital leadership, faculty and the Board of Directors.
His past experiences in development also include posts at the University of North Carolina, University of Alabama, University of Georgia and the American Red Cross.
Carter received his undergraduate degree from Augusta State University in Georgia.
