Dedication drives award winners
New recipients of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Credo Award and Five Pillar Leader Award were honored March 4 at the VUMC Leadership Assembly.

• “Very conscientious, and holds all accountable to stay within our budget;”
• “Keeps both staff and members up to date on changes and always maintains a very positive attitude, even though the plan has changed multiple times for our center;”
• “It is very nice to work for someone who keeps that good of an attitude and outlook for growth;”
• “Has encouraged each of us to grow our individualized skills;” and
• “The best boss I have ever had in my 35-year career.”
Credo awards were presented to: Claudia Cottingham, a coordinator in the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs; Tina Herron a senior specialty tech with Computed Tomography; and Connie Trahan a dietetic technician with Nutrition Services.
Cottingham “cares deeply about the needs of the fellows and they know that they can depend on her,” a letter stated.
Herron “inspires me with her commitment to our patients,” a letter stated.
Trahan “consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty,” said another letter.
The letters (sent to the Credo committee by colleagues) featured vignettes illustrating the dedication that these award winners bring to their work.
Recipients of the Credo Award and Five Pillar Leader Award are named every three months. Nomination forms and a list of award criteria are available on the elevate Web site (www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/elevate) and from the Vanderbilt Valet desk in Medical Center North. Repeat nominations are welcome.
