Roger Dmochowski, M.D., professor of Urologic Surgery, has been named president of the Society of Urodynamics and Female Urology (SUFU). The appointment to the two-year term was made during their annual meeting in February.
Urodynamics involves the study of the transport, storage and expulsion of urine.
SUFU's goals are to improve the art and science of urology through basic and applied clinical research in urodynamics and neurourology, voiding function and dysfunction, female urology and pelvic floor dysfunction, and to disseminate and teach these concepts.
The society also fosters interdisciplinary dialogue and communication, promotion of the development of young scientists and the development of scientific, educational and professional activities through publications, specifically, The Journal of Neurourology and Urodynamics.
