David J. Calkins, Ph.D.
David J. Calkins, Ph.D., joined the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center May 1 in the department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
Previously, Calkins served as the director of DeStephano Laboratory for Retinal Genomics at University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
He was an associate professor at University of Rochester in Ophthalmology, Neurology, Neurobiology and Anatomy, as well as at the Center for Visual Science.
Calkins received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania.
He specializes in the genetic regulation of retinal function in health and disease.
