Kevin D. Niswender, M.D., Ph.D., joined the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center July 1 as assistant professor of Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and Molecular Physiology and Biophysics.
Previously, he had a fellowship in Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
He also had an internship and internal medicine residency at University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals in Seattle.
Niswender received his M.D. at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, as well as his Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University.
His research focuses on the basic mechanisms of body weight regulation and the pathophysiology of obesity.
