Stephen John Cico, M.D., has joined the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt as an instructor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
He has a special interest in the areas of child abuse and neglect and pediatric toxicology as it relates to neglect.
His research interests include views and perceptions of HIPAA regulations and the ethical conduct of research.
Cico obtained his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio.
He completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Cico later completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
