Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s influenza mass vaccination event, Flulapalooza, has been selected by the National Influenza Vaccine Summit (NIVS) to receive a Corporate Campaign, Honorable Mention Award.
Flulapalooza was selected for this distinction from more than 32 nominations received by NIVS.
The award will be presented in May during the NIVS awards program.
Flulapalooza was held on Oct. 12, 2011, resulting in a new Guinness World Record for the most influenza vaccines administered during an eight-hour period.
Flulapalooza more than doubled the existing record, with 12,850 flu vaccines given in eight hours and 14,082 vaccines given during the entire day of the mass vaccination exercise.
