Matthew Netterville, a local triathlete and employee of Cumberland Transit bike shop on West End Avenue, talks at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt about the Tour de France and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The presentation was part of a “Go, Lance, Go!” party sponsored by Candle Lighters support group for families of childhood cancer. Held last Thursday, children were given “Live Strong” wristbands, part of the Lance Armstrong Foundation fund-raising effort to support cancer research and promote hope in cancer patients.
