Critical Care Tower Phase II
Construction start — December 2006
Expected completion — November 2008
Cost — $169 million
Features — The 10-story tower, which is being constructed above VUH's Emergency Department, will add 141 acute-care beds as well as 12 new operating suites. The crew just celebrated “topping out” and is now working to finish the exterior and duct work. Phase III will involve the construction of the 5th floor cath lab, which is to be funded in FY 2009 and 2010, and the 7th and 10th floor ICU patient floors, which are planned to be funded in FY 2011.
