Hartert inducted into leadership program for women in academic medicine
Tina Hartert, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, has been inducted into the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Hartert joins 53 other senior women faculty from across the country selected as fellows for the 2010-2011 ELAM class.
ELAM is the nation’s only in-depth program focused on preparing women faculty at schools of medicine, dentistry and public health for institutional leadership positions.
Established in 1995, nearly 700 women leaders have participated in the yearlong program aimed at developing the professional and personal skills required to lead in today’s health care environment. ELAM alumnae make up 25 percent of the executive positions in academic medicine and dentistry that are held by women.
Hartert directs the Center for Asthma Research and Environmental Health, Clinical Epidemiology and Outcomes Research, the Medical Scholars Program and the Vanderbilt Environmental Health Science Scholars Program.
