Jacobson named to health care power list
Harry Jacobson, M.D., Vanderbilt's vice chancellor for Health Affairs, has again been named among the 50 most powerful physician executives in the United States by Modern Healthcare magazine.
The annual listing is culled from nominations submitted by readers of Modern Healthcare and its sister publication, Modern Physician.
Jacobson, who is retiring next month after 12 years overseeing the phenomenal growth of Vanderbilt Medical Center, said he is honored to be ranked No. 21 on list.
“It's always rewarding to included on a list with so many talented, visionary leaders in American health care,” Jacobson said. “It's especially rewarding for me, because this type of recognition is really a validation of the incredible hard work and dedication of the people of Vanderbilt Medical Center to make a difference in society.
“Vanderbilt is recognized as a leader in U.S. health care due to the commitment of the people here to provide the absolute best in patient care, education and groundbreaking research.”
Modern Healthcare, a weekly magazine written for hospital and health system executives, is an industry-intensive news source that regularly covers issues, news and trends affecting health care in the United States.
