Dr. David Johnson, deputy director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, recently received the Frank S. Moran Clinical Leadership Award from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The annual award is presented to two individuals representing clinical and basic cancer research. Johnson, Cornelius Abernathy Craig Chair in Oncology, received the award along with Dr. John Minna of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for their work to better understand the biology of lung cancer and improve treatments.
“Dr. Minna is a hero of mine and to receive this award jointly with him is indeed an honor,” Johnson said.
The award is named for the late Michigan financier whose bequeath established the award.
