Jones takes on VUSN faculty practice duties
Pam Jones, M.S.N., R.N., assistant professor of Nursing, has been named assistant dean for Faculty Practice of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.
She replaces Susan Cooper, M.S.N., R.N., who is on administrative leave after assuming the role of Commissioner of Health for the State of Tennessee.
“We are delighted to have Pam assume this role, working closely with Bonnie Pilon, our senior associate dean for Faculty Practice,” said Colleen Conway-Welch, Ph.D., R.N., dean of VUSN. “Pam has an impressive combination of financial and clinical skills that will help further propel our work in developing nurse practitioner health care models. She will help us gain a further reach and help us reach even more people.”
Jones has been with the school for five years and served on the faculty for the Health Systems Management Program as well as the Clinical Nurse Leader Program. She has particular expertise in health care business management and operational finance. In addition to teaching, she has fulfilled a variety of operational roles within the faculty practice enterprise and is currently its administrative officer.
Prior to joining VUSN, Jones had 18 years of leadership experience including vice president for Women's Services, vice president for Patient Care Services, chief operating officer and chief executive officer of the former Baptist Women's Pavillion in Nashville. She has had experience in academic, for-profit and faith-based organizations.
