Live, from Afghanistan
All the way from Afghanistan, U.S. Army Maj. Donna Coker, R.N., recently had the chance to visit via satellite teleconference with her co-workers in peri-operative services at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. In her civilian life at the Children's Hospital, Coker is a charge nurse in the pediatric invasive cardiology (catheterization) lab and is currently deployed in Kabul as a Nurse Corps Officer in the Troop Medical Clinic at Camp Phoenix. At least 100 staff members from the Children's Hospital came to Light Hall recently to listen to Coker talk about her work in the Army.
