The Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s News and Public Affairs office has grown recently with the addition of two new staff members.
Bill Snyder joined the staff as a senior science writer and editor of a new science magazine that is being developed by the Medical Center.
Snyder, 48, formerly was a staff writer at The Tennessean, specializing in health care reporting. He also worked for the Nashville Banner and The Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Mass.
A graduate of Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Snyder was assistant information officer at Stanford University Medical Center before joining the Banner staff in 1980.
He and his wife Susan Snyder, who earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Vanderbilt in 1987, live in Williamson County with their two children.
Elizabeth Roth joined the staff as information officer and will be covering Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Roth, 31, was formerly the vice president of product development and creative media with Acymtech, a software development firm based in Nashville. Prior to her work with Acymtech, Roth was the marketing manager with the technology recruiting company, Alltech.
She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in psychology. Roth and her husband Michael live in Green Hills.
