Partners in Health campaign marching steadily toward goal
With just two weeks remaining until the June 30 deadline, the Partners In Health giving campaign is making headway toward its 2009 goals.
As of June 8, $1,332,623 has been donated, which equals 70 percent of the $1.9 million goal. Faculty participation stands at 34.96 percent, just under the 40 percent goal.
Four departments have achieved at least 50 percent participation: Emergency Medicine, Medical Education and Administration, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Thoracic Surgery.
“With so many charities and causes asking for money, it can become difficult to decide where to donate,” said Corey Slovis, M.D., who chairs the campaign along with Carol Etherington, M.S.N., R.N., and Susan Wente, Ph.D.
“Because Vanderbilt is part of who we are, deciding whether to give to Partners In Health should be a very easy decision,” he said.
Partners In Health supports Vanderbilt Medical Center's academic mission and is a way for faculty and staff to support the areas they are most passionate about.
All funds stay within the Medical Center, and donors may direct funds toward a school, department or program of their choice.
