Vanderbilt’s Ossoff earns health care compliance certification
Robert Ossoff, M.D., assistant vice chancellor for Compliance and Corporate Integrity, recently completed the Compliance Certification Board's Certified in Healthcare Compliance examination, earning the CHC designation.
Compliance professionals work to ensure that federal, state and local regulations governing the delivery of health care services are followed.
The Compliance Certification Board (CCB) develops criteria for determining competence in the practice of health care compliance at a variety of levels, and to recognize individuals meeting these criteria.
“The United States government constantly updates the laws and regulations surrounding Medicare to ensure proper billing and to eliminate fraud,” said Debbie Troklus, CCB president. “These new regulations demand professionals who both understand the new regulations and how to implement programs to ensure compliance within their companies.”
Ossoff is also the Guy M. Maness Professor of Laryngology and former chair of Vanderbilt's Department of Otolaryngology and director of the Bill Wilkerson Center for Otolaryngology and Hearing and Speech Sciences.
