Four Vanderbilt University Medical Center publications were honored last week with awards from District Three of CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
VUMC's 2005/2006 annual report, One Day, 24 Hours in the Life of Vanderbilt Medical Center, was the top award winner in two categories — Annual Reports II and Photo Essay and Series. Wayne Wood, VUMC director of publications, edited the annual report.
Dana Johnson, a photographer in the Office of News and Public Affairs, was the managing editor.
Vanderbilt Medicine, the alumni magazine of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, won top honors in the Alumni Magazines II category. Nancy Humphrey edits the magazine.
…on their Way, the magazine for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, won a special merit award in the Other Magazines category. The magazine is edited by Jessica Ennis.
Vanderbilt Nurse, the alumni magazine of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, also won a special merit award in the Alumni Magazines I category. The magazine is edited by Kathy Rivers.
All of the award-winning publications are designed by Diana Duren.
The VUMC publications were chosen from more than 1,100 entries in 46 categories.
“I am proud of the fine work that our writers, editors, photographers and designers produce, and I'm pleased every time the quality of that work is recognized by our peers,” Wood said.
