VUMC signs affiliation with Coffee Medical Center
Vanderbilt University Medical Center has entered into an affiliation agreement with Coffee Medical Center in Manchester, Tenn.
The agreement enables VUMC to expand its geographic coverage area and bring its broad range of high quality health care services to patients in Coffee County, located approximately 60 miles southeast of Nashville.
The agreement with Coffee Medical Center adds to VUMC's network of allied hospitals, which include facilities in Shelbyville, Crossville, Clarksville and Sumner County. The move gives VUMC access to patients living in Coffee County, said Donald E. Hancock, assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs.
"We are excited about the opportunity to affiliate with Coffee Medical Center and to make Vanderbilt's unique blend of health care services available to the people of Coffee County."
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
William Moore, administrator of Coffee Medical Center, said the affiliation will benefit Coffee County patients by opening the door to VUMC's wealth of specialists and other unique health care services.
"Vanderbilt is regarded as one of the most well respected medical institutions in the country," Moore said. "We feel the people of Coffee County will be well served by this agreement with an institution like Vanderbilt."
