VUMC to roll out new ID badges for all employees
This summer, Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty, staff and employed students will receive new identification badges that take advantage of updated technology and enhanced security. New logos will also make it easier to identify employees.
Between now and May 13, go to http://hr.vander-bilt.edu/update-vumc-id-badge/ to verify the information that will be displayed on your badge. This process should take no longer than three minutes.
If you do not verify your data, your new badge may be missing information (e.g. credentials).
To ensure your badge reflects the correct information, you need to:
• Review your name, department, title and credentials (limited to three). Change any of these, as needed.
• Make sure the color option is correct (for example: white for staff, light blue for registered nurse, dark blue for nurse practitioners and CRNAs, etc.)
• Make sure the logo is accurate (for example: Medical Center or the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt).
Employees received a notification on Tuesday, April 19, in MyVUMC, from Traci Nordberg and Warren Beck outlining this process, along with a link to the template.
Immediate supervisors and VUMC leadership will verify the updated badge information and ensure consistency in titling across the organization before they are printed.
Once the new badges have been printed in the late summer or early fall, supervisors will follow up with information on returning the old badge and receiving the new one.
To ensure that old badges are no longer in circulation, you must turn in your old badge.
Beginning May 1, all newly hired employees will receive badges with the new logos and the enhanced security features.
They will not be required to complete the online update and they will not receive a new badge in the fall.
